Recruited from Springvale after winning some five Best & Fairest awards, Steve came to the club with great enthusiasm and high expectations.
A very talented all round footballer, he led the by example, often demonstrating tremendous courage on the field. But being a first time coach, he took a little time to find his feet and adjust to a team and club lacking the professionalism that he had come to expect.
Once established however, Steve led the team through a phase of development and has gradually improved performances to the point that the senior team again featured in finals’ football.
Extremely well respected as a player, ‘Harro’ earned his stripes as a coach.
