CHELSEA FOOTBALL CLUB - HOME OF THE SEAGULLS

OBITUARIES/TRIBUTES

WILLIAMS, Tommy - 2000

13 May 2000
ONE MASSIVE WAKE – CHELSEA STYLE
Upon Tommy Williams passing, some 1000 plus family and friends (Tom considered his friends as family) attended a packed St Joseph’s church at Chelsea.
Tom’s wake was held at the club where both levels of the social rooms were standing room only.
The crowd consumed twenty barrels without one cent changing hands, as the football club carried the cost in appreciation for the life of an unforgettable man, someone who had made such an amazing contribution to the club and the community.
Tom’s coffin was lowered into the ground draped in the 1986 premiership flag, just as he wished.
