Chelsea wins 2nds Flag by 4 goals.

Chelsea convincingly won the Mornington Peninsula Football League Second XV111 grand final on Saturday at Carrum.
The Seagulls had too much pace and system for the Bulldogs who made a belated effort to pull the game out of the fire in the second half. But each time Chelsea steadied and were never really in any trouble.
Up to half-time the game was a lop-sided affair. Chelsea, relishing the calm day and the big ground kept the ball wide to the wings and flanks and used their superior pace to advantage.
The Bulldogs were run off their legs. The warm day made the going tough for both sides, but it seemed that Chelsea were withstanding the strain better than their opponents who, because of the draw between Seaford and Chelsea in the preliminary final, had experienced a three week layoff.
At half-time it looked as if it would be a runaway win for Chelsea 8.11 to Mornington 3.8.
Chelsea added a couple of goals soon after the start of the third term and it looked all over. But then the Bulldogs at last started to get some system with their play and struck back.  Chelsea wilted slightly under the Mornington pressure. The Bulldogs were starting to look like a top side. They were winning in the air and were first in for the ball at all times.
Interest in the game was rekindled as the Bulldogs blasted their way back into the game. At the last change the scores were Chelsea 11.12 to Mornington 8.11.
The crowd was on its toes anticipating a continuation of the great fight back by Mornington. Soon after the start of the final quarter it was evident the Bulldogs had run their race.
One could be forgiven for thinking Chelsea had a breather in the third quarter because the last quarter certainly dispelled any doubts about their ability to keep up the same hectic pace as early in the game.
The Seagulls really fired. Although scoring was fairly even for the quarter, Chelsea adding 3.3 to Mornington 2.3, the Seagulls pace kept them well in control.
